Have you ever been to Amish Country? I’m returning to September 3, 1998 when my daughter Eva-Marie and I made a trip to Ohio, to a Homecoming organized by the book club Heartsong Presents. I went along for the ride, so to speak, since she was a member and due to her health condition I had to accompany her.
What sweet memories we made in that beautiful Amish Countryside. I’ve been going through my scrapbook pages back and forth. It’s bittersweet, because I don’t have my girl anymore.
Google “Amish” and read about these peculiar but beautiful people
Eva-Marie lived for her books. Through the stories she could be transported to romantic fantasy worlds her body could not take her. And the communication she had with the authors made her feel part of the world.
It took a lot of effort on her part to make the 1,500 miles trip. From Missouri, to Illinois, through Indiana, to Ohio… I was fascinated at the beauty of the countryside. Eva-Marie was only interested in meeting the authors and her fellow club members.
Hannah Alexander, Andrea Boeshaar, Colleen Coble, Tracie Peterson, Colleen Reece… just to name a few of the authors. It gets crazy with just “book-talk”! But, oh how happy it made Eva-Marie!

If you have a chance to make memories, do it! Don’t put it off! Time flies, things change, losses may come… One thing no one can take away are your memories. Make many, so you have a host of them to RETURN to.
