Trip of a Lifetime

Peru is a country of contrasts. High mountains and deep valleys; rich people (3% of the population is very rich), poor people (30% of the population is very poor); cold and hot climates; a variety of tribal people, whites, Indians, Asians and Africans—all of them warm-hearted and friendly Peruvians.

Peru is situated by the Pacific Ocean; the Amazon River has its source in Peru and a great part of the Amazon jungle is there. Potatoes, tomatoes, sweet cucumbers, quinoa and paprika are all from Peru.

Peru also has the Inca’s capital city, Cuzco. Machu Picchu, one of the seven “new” wonders of the world, is also in Peru. Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest lake with steamship service, lies between Peru and Bolivia.

There are 105 climate zones in the world; 84 in Peru. The world’s deepest valley, about 10,000 feet, is in Peru, and also the Andes mountain-range.

One of the world’s driest deserts is in Peru. In the desert are the most indefinable Nazca-lines.

Two of my siblings, Pepe and Agneta, who have had the privilege of growing up in this exotic country, are organizing a trip there in September. Would you like to come along with them on that exciting trip?

My sister Agneta and her husband Ola live in Sweden and organize yearly guided tours to Peru. This time she will do a tour in English together with my American brother Pepe.

I can assure you it would be a trip of a lifetime.

My name is Kerstin Anderas-Lundquist. I was born in Sweden to Per & Brita Anderas, on March 6, 1946. In 1948 we left to begin a missionary life in Chile; in 1956 we moved on to Peru. On May 1, 1969 I married an all-Swedish guy from Karslkrona: Bengt Göran Emanuel Lundquist. God blessed us with two daughters: Eva-Marie Elizabeth and Ruth Carina. We served as missionaries in Peru and Bolivia. In 1988 we moved to the United States to work at Life Publishers in Miami, Florida. I was to assist in developing the line of Sunday School Curriculum in Spanish known as Vida Nueva. I am now retired and live in Oklahoma. My husband and daughter Eva-Marie have been promoted to Heaven. Carina and her family live some 15 minutes away. I publish Bible lessons and stories for children in Spanish, for free download. My deepest desire is to spread the “seed of love”–inspiration to serve God and our neighbors with love and compassion. You can find English stories at MX1414.wordpress.com.
