Faith and Prayer

One of my neighbors from across the street has some beautiful tress. After I had taken a picture of them I realized they were a perfect illustration for a poem printed in  my church bulletin this past Sunday.

Lives Distressed Cannot be Blessed

Refuse to be discourages,
Refuse to be distressed.

For when we are despondent
Our life cannot be blessed—

For doubt and fear and worry
Close the door to Faith and Prayer,

For there’s no room for blessings
When we’re lost in deep despair—

So remember when you’re troubled
with uncertainty and doubt

It is best to tell our Father
What our fears are all about—

For unless we seek His guidance
When troubled times arise

We are bound to make decisions
That are twisted and unwise—

But when we view our problems
Through the eyes of God above,

Misfortunes turn to blessings
And hatred turns to love.

Perfect timing! I will now listen to the speech held by the President of the United States. The race is on. Who will be the next President? Barack Obama just accepted the nomination. It will now be up to the American people if he will be re-elected.

Faith and Prayer are the standards we need to live by. In the next two months we need to be faithful in prayer for God’s will to be done. Not only these coming two month but always.

To pray for our leaders is biblical.

1 Timothy 2:1-6
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone– for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men-the testimony given in its proper time.

Don’t let doubt and fear and worry close the door to Faith and Prayer. However distressed or worried about the future you might be, Faith and Payer can carry you through, because by Faith and Prayer you look to the One and only who can make you soar on wings like eagles (see Isaiah 40:29-31).

I will be carried away on wings of American and Berlin Air so I will not be able to vote two months from now. I need to find out about absentee votes. I want to vote. One vote more or less can make a difference. But the greatest difference is made by Faith and Prayer!

Let’s be faithful in prayer!

About kelund

My name is Kerstin Anderas-Lundquist. I was born in Sweden to Per & Brita Anderas, on March 6, 1946. In 1948 we left to begin a missionary life in Chile; in 1956 we moved on to Peru. On May 1, 1969 I married an all-Swedish guy from Karslkrona: Bengt Göran Emanuel Lundquist. God blessed us with two daughters: Eva-Marie Elizabeth and Ruth Carina. We served as missionaries in Peru and Bolivia. In 1988 we moved to the United States to work at Life Publishers in Miami, Florida. I was to assist in developing the line of Sunday School Curriculm in Spanish known as Vida Nueva. I live in Springfield, Missouri, and am retired from work at the Assemblies of God Headquarters. My husband and daughter Eva-Marie have been promoted to Heaven. Carina is married to Thom Cole and they have given me four gourgeous grandchildren, even five (teen-age John). I will be writing about my life, past and present, blended with visions for the future. My deepest desire is to spread the “seed of love”–inspiration to serve God and our neighbors with love and compassion.
