To the Land of the Vikings

On September 12th, my friend Susie and I prayed that on my trip to Sweden God would surprise me on how comfortable it would be. Just looking at the itinerary it had the possibility of being just the opposite.

I could have bought a regular ticket and chose to fly as easily and directly as possible, but my only possibility to be able to buy the ticket was to use Frequent Flyer Miles. The cost for the trip would be the $50 yearly fee for the time it takes me collect the miles and the taxes. Not a bad deal!

ITINERARY

Day One: Leave the house at 4:00 AM to fly to Dallas, Ft Worth and then on to Miami, Florida, arriving there at 11:15 AM, with a stop-over until the next day.

Day Two: Leave my friend’s house at 9:30 AM to sit at the airport until the plane for Germany left at 4:00PM.

Day Three: Lose 6 hours. Arrive in Düsseldorf at 7:00 AM. Wait there for a plane to Berlin leaving at 2:10 PM. From Berlin take a plane to Gothenburg at 5:30 PM and arrive in Gothenburg, Sweden at 6:45 PM. From there a 2+-hour car drive to my final destination for the trip.

Here I am… it’s done! All well!

I will tell the story in parts, when I get caught up on my sleep. I lost two nights!

About kelund

My name is Kerstin Anderas-Lundquist. I was born in Sweden to Per & Brita Anderas, on March 6, 1946. In 1948 we left to begin a missionary life in Chile; in 1956 we moved on to Peru. On May 1, 1969 I married an all-Swedish guy from Karslkrona: Bengt Göran Emanuel Lundquist. God blessed us with two daughters: Eva-Marie Elizabeth and Ruth Carina. We served as missionaries in Peru and Bolivia. In 1988 we moved to the United States to work at Life Publishers in Miami, Florida. I was to assist in developing the line of Sunday School Curriculm in Spanish known as Vida Nueva. I live in Springfield, Missouri, and am retired from work at the Assemblies of God Headquarters. My husband and daughter Eva-Marie have been promoted to Heaven. Carina is married to Thom Cole and they have given me four gourgeous grandchildren, even five (teen-age John). I will be writing about my life, past and present, blended with visions for the future. My deepest desire is to spread the “seed of love”–inspiration to serve God and our neighbors with love and compassion.
