Once upon a time there was this little girl sitting on a hay bale in a pumpkin patch. This same girl is sitting by the computer starting a “Once upon a time” story about a boy and a girl who ten years ago tied the knot. That boy and girl are off some place celebrating and I’m in charge of the results of that knot-tying ceremony.
There will be no great blog-writing for a couple of days. I have four children to entertain. They have been off school all week so their energy level is high and they have already done a lot of the do at home activities.
I have this girl sitting by her mom’s computer asking me about spelling the worlds of her story. I have her big brother sitting at my left playing “four in a row” with me. The little sister is on my right side playing another game with me. The other sister is entertained with a game on the phone. I have to time them, because after 45 minutes of an electronic game, they have to do something “constructive” with their mind.
By the time the parents get back, I’ll probably have to do something “constructive” with my mind and maybe to relax I’ll get back to my blogging. As for now, I’ll just devote 100% to the kids, and have fun!
I had some friends send me this greeting, that I’ll pass on.
When life’s journey gets so difficult
That it feels too much to bear.
Just remember, we don’t walk alone–
Our almighty God is there.
I have a feeling I’ll be asking for a lot of help. If this would have been in my BC life, no big deal. I praise the Lord that he has helped me so wonderfully that I can even do this for my daughter and son-in-law. Four years ago I was pleading with God not to let me die. I can testify from the bottom of my heart that we are never alone, even in the most difficult time.
I can’t thank God enough for what happened “once upon a time” ten years ago, so that I now have these wonderful children to lavish my love on. I’m off to doing just that!
