I know the very best way to start off this New Year on the right foot. I have been praying about a situation for a while, in which I felt I have been wronged, asking the Lord what I should do about it. He gave me an answer this morning in my prayer time, and that’s what I’m passing on to you.
The most excellent way in any situation is the way of love. “Forgive and forget” was the Lord’s message. I should leave it in his hands and start the New Year with a clean slate. He is the best Advocate. Anything we put in his care is safe; we don’t have to worry about it. If God can’t take care of a situation, then who can?
I went to the Love Chapter of the Bible—1 Corinthians 13— and that’s where the answer was. In making a list of the descriptions of love, one stood out.
LOVE IS …
LOVE DOES NOT …
- delight in evil
LOVE IS NOT…
- easily angered,
LOVE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS
LOVE NEVER FAILS
I don’t know what God will point out to you in the pursuit of love. For me, as of today, it is to keep no record of wrongs, to start 2013 with a clean slate. Really, that is what we should do every day. Start afresh! Start clean! Start with a forgiving heart!
