A Matchbox Bible Library

Now and again I have been mentioning my assistant Cristina. We work at a distance using Skype. Sometimes it doesn’t work very well, like today, when there is interference. Other times we see each other on the computer screen and it’s like we were working in the same room.

This morning we are working on the final details of a matchbox Bible library. Can you imagine the patience this girl has, to fix little matchboxes to represent each book of the entire Bible? All the instructions are going to be on our Spanish blog http://cajaideas.wordpress.com, but I want you to see a picture of her work.

We got started when I read about elephants, camels, donkeys, and other animals who bring books to far-away places where there are no libraries. In fact, I’m working on a story for this week about two donkeys from Colombia, called Alfa & Beto, which combined is ALFABETO (Spanish for Alphabet), and this man Luis, who take a library to places that only donkeys can reach. No automobiles! They even have a page on Facebook, called BIBLIOBURRO.

I have to get back to work, but I just wanted to show this excellent work that Cristina has done. When she was a girl her father made a library like this one for her. Now we are hoping many children will make their Bible libraries and learn the books of the Bible. We’re suggesting that they put something in each little box that represents the different books. How fun is this!?

My name is Kerstin Anderas-Lundquist. I was born in Sweden to Per & Brita Anderas, on March 6, 1946. In 1948 we left to begin a missionary life in Chile; in 1956 we moved on to Peru. On May 1, 1969 I married an all-Swedish guy from Karslkrona: Bengt Göran Emanuel Lundquist. God blessed us with two daughters: Eva-Marie Elizabeth and Ruth Carina. We served as missionaries in Peru and Bolivia. In 1988 we moved to the United States to work at Life Publishers in Miami, Florida. I was to assist in developing the line of Sunday School Curriculm in Spanish known as Vida Nueva. I live in Springfield, Missouri, and am retired from work at the Assemblies of God Headquarters. My husband and daughter Eva-Marie have been promoted to Heaven. Carina is married to Thom Cole and they have given me four gourgeous grandchildren, even five (teen-age John). I will be writing about my life, past and present, blended with visions for the future. My deepest desire is to spread the “seed of love”–inspiration to serve God and our neighbors with love and compassion.
