God’s Amazing Presence

I’m working on stories from Exodus. It’s imaginary, about a boy and a girl and the adventures they have as they leave Egypt and cross the Red Sea. It’s a series of weekly stories of miracles and the amazing presence of God.

One of the issues that has consumed me this week is the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire that went before the people of Israel. I’ve had to ask for several pictures from the artist, because he has a different idea of the situation than I have. It’s difficult, especially as we just communicate by email.

It’s been an “obsession” on my part. That’s how I see it. I’ve finally got a picture of children and their excitement because of the pillar of fire.

Here is the picture of the cloud and the people traveling.

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people. Exodus 13:21,22

Why this obsession? I want the children I reach through my stories to catch the vision of God’s presence. Just like God guided the Israelites, his presence goes with us today.

We now have the presence of God in us through the Holy Spirit.

Let me tell you a fresh testimony of God’s presence in my life. To do the stories and publish them online with pictures and activities to go with them I need help. Some of you know about Cristina and Absalom that work with me. I am able to have their help because of income I get through translation jobs.

My translation projects ended; I finished them! No more income to pass along! I was talking to the Lord this morning about it and came to think of my friend Bruce. I have to give him a call to see if he has any projects, I thought. Later in the morning, as I was writing some checks, I reminded the Lord that the balance on my account was very low. I have some savings to cover my funeral expenses (I don’t want t leave my daughter with that burden) and I don’t want to cut into that fund. Of course, God knows all that, but we are told to make our requests known to Him.

As I am debating about this, guess who calls? Bruce! And he had a project for me!

Talk about God’s presence! Like He went before the children of Israel in a cloud and in fire, He has been guiding me step by step all my life. This is not the first miracle of this kind. But every time it’s just as exciting!

This new project will help me keep my artists for a few months more. Then there will be another miracle! No doubt about that!

Dear Reader, you can have the same Presence in your life. Whatever your need is today, put it in God’s hands. He has promised to never leave us and never forsake us.

See Hebrews 13:5,6. Read about the cloud and the fire in Exodus 13:17-22.

I wish you a miracle-filled weekend!

My husband and daughter Eva-Marie have been promoted to Heaven. Carina is married to Thom Cole and they have given me four gourgeous grandchildren, even five (teen-age John). I will be writing about my life, past and present, blended with visions for the future. My deepest desire is to spread the “seed of love”–inspiration to serve God and our neighbors with love and compassion.

  2. “come Thou Fount of every blessing. Tune my heart to sing Thy grace. Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of God’s unchanging love.” Thanks for your words of encouragement! “Pito”
